NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov Receives the Delegation of the State of Kuwait
1 / 3

On March 22, the RA NA Deputy Speaker received Yaqoub Abdulmohsen Al-Sane, the Minister of Justice, Awqaf and Islamic Affairs of the State of Kuwait and the members of the Delegation accompanying him. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the State of Kuwait Fadey Charchoghlyan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of Armenia Bassam Muhammad Alqabandi attended the meeting.

Welcoming the guests, Eduard Sharmazanov has highly assessed the traditional warm relations of the two friendly countries and has noted that though firm partnership relations exist, nevertheless there are spheres, for which there are potential and possibilities to develop. The NA Deputy Speaker expressed his gratitude to the State of Kuwait for the humanitarian step of granting second motherland to the Armenian immigrants, who hardly survived the Genocide. He expressed confidence that Yaqoub Abdulmohsen Al-Sane’s visit to the Armenian Parliament will serve as a new impetus to develop already formed relations and implement new and mutually beneficial projects. In this context the interlocutors highlighted the cooperation of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups and the activation of the mutual visits.

In the course of the meeting the NA Deputy Speaker touched upon the manifestations of accelerating terrorism and extremism greatly spread in the world and the issue of the NK conflict settlement. He has underlined that the terrorism has neither nationality and nor religion. He condemned the terrorism that occurred in Brussels several hours ago, which had become cause of innocent casualties and injured. Eduard Sharmazanov considered necessary to combine the efforts for fighting against these misanthropic phenomena.

Regarding the NK conflict settlement the NA Deputy Speaker has noted that, unlike Azerbaijan, Armenia sees the settlement of the problem exclusively through peaceful means based on the right to the nations’ self-determination in the OSCE Minsk Group. In this context the NA Deputy Speaker has informed the guests that Turkey has already keeping Armenia under blockade for 23 years, which is inadmissible in the 21st century. He has underscored that Armenia is for the peaceful co-existence with the neighbours and without preconditions, what can’t be said about Turkey. He has stressed that both Armenia and Kuwait seek for peaceful coexistence and neighbourhood in their regions.

Eduard Sharmazanov also thanked the State of Kuwait for the humanitarian assistance provided to Armenia.

Yaqoub Abdulmohsen Al-Sane, the Minister of Justice, Awqaf and Islamic Affairs of the State of Kuwait, thanked the NA Deputy Speaker for the warm reception and also highlighted the rapprochement of the relations, the activation of the parliamentary cooperation and the mutual visits. Noting the balanced foreign policy of the State of Kuwait, the Minister Yaqoub Abdulmohsen Al-Sane has also stated that both Armenia and Kuwait pursue peaceful policy in their regions. He deemed necessary combining the efforts for fighting against the manifestations of extremism and terrorism.

The Minister of Justice, Awqaf and Islamic Affairs of the State of Kuwait Yaqoub Abdulmohsen Al-Sane invited the NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov to the State of Kuwait, which was gladly accepted.
